Job Description:
Principal-Software Engineer needed by DIRECTV, LLC in El Segundo, CA and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.
S.
; may work from home to be responsible for the overall delivery process of a software application or service, including design, development, testing, deployment, production application support and maintenance with a focus on automation.
Collaborate to gather and review software requirements/user stories, provide estimates, create software design specifications and collaborate with engineers/architects to assess and test hardware and software interactions.
Execute a specific development methodology through application of various programming languages:

NET client/server and/or Internet application/business analysis on an enterprise wide system.
Create and execute automated test plans/strategies utilizing business requirements and collaborate with engineers/architects, clients, etc.
to validate test environments, test data and test results, design and implement code fixes, validate outcomes against expected results and produce associated reporting.
Perform dynamic application security testing, interface testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing and/or user acceptance testing.
Support applications and solve configuration and environment issues.
Support the software deployment process.
Act as Subject Matter Expert and advisor on technical knowledge and DTV technologies.
Architect the end-to-end flow of the product and features.
Evaluate the feasibility and compatibility of solution to be modified for a new product.
Walkthrough the architecture to internal teams to align with future product roadmap.
Perform capacity and load planning for upcoming features and product rollouts.
Create technical documentation, flowcharts, process diagrams for internal Dev, QA team.
Develop and maintain systems documentation such as design specifications, Application Interface Documents (AID), technical manuals, description of application operations, and methodology documentations.
Participate in technical collaboration meetings.
Provide recommendations and lead continuous improvement in both application functionality and internal software development processes.
Serve as liaison with Change Management to create change requests to get the products/features deployed to production.
Monitor products and APIs to detect any issues and make fixes.
Lead issue resolution and requests that require the technical troubleshooting of the supported application or systematic analysis of application data.
Communicate with management on all projects, support, or analysis tasks.
Work with geographically diverse teams comprised of employees, vendor partners, and contractors.
Utilize technical aspects of web application development and design:

NET, SQL, HTML, XML, Java/Java Script.
Utilize Agile Methodology:
Scrum.
Perform application design and architecture.
Design HTTP+JSON APIs:
Postman and SOAP UI.
Perform product and service design and development.
Utilize database technologies:
Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB.
Utilize monitoring and observability tools:
Splunk, Dynatrace, Quantum Metric.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Information Technology and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation executing a specific development methodology through application of various programming languages:
