Apply now! As a Summer Camp Counselor at Jay Nolan Camp, you will play a crucial role in providing leadership, coordination, support, and supervision to a group of campers during a week-long sleep-away camp.
About Jay Nolan Camp:
The camp focuses on serving a diverse population of children aged 8 to 15, with an emphasis on embracing cultural diversity and accommodating neurodiverse campers.
With guidance, you will use creative and engaging techniques to enable all campers opportunities to participate in every activity, regardless of their unique needs.

Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate a group of campers assigned to a cabin and fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
Provide continuous support and guidance to campers, ensuring their safety, well-being, and participation in camp activities.
Organize and supervise cabin group activities, promoting team building, social interaction, and personal growth.
Collaborate with the Summer Camp Director and medical personnel to address the specific needs of campers receiving support from regional centers.
Assist campers in daily routines, including meals, hygiene, and rest periods.
Act as a positive role model, promoting respect for cultural diversity and understanding of neurodiversity.
Mediate and resolve conflicts within the cabin group, fostering a harmonious living environment.
Communicate effectively with campers' families and guardians, providing updates on camp activities and camper progress.
Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required.
Meet the physical demands of supporting young kids in an outdoor recreational environment.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain it before the camp season).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
