We are looking for a Summer Camp Registered Nurse (RN) young campers with and without disabilities.
Apply now! The Summer Camp Registered Nurse is a vital member of our camp healthcare team, responsible for managing the medical needs of our cultural and neurodiverse population of children aged 8 to 15, with a significant percentage of campers receiving services from regional centers.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of campers throughout the week-long sleep-away camp.
Must be available for in-person training:
All Staff Training:
Sat-Sun, July 13-14 (9am to 5pm) (Mandatory) New Hire Orientation, Mandt Skills, & CPR/First Aid:

Responsibilities:
Medical Care:
Provide comprehensive medical care to campers, including assessing and treating minor injuries, illnesses, and managing any medical conditions including administering prescribed medications to specific campers as required.
Emergency Response:
Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies promptly and effectively, including providing CPR and basic first aid.
Coordinate with local emergency services when necessary.
Camp Health Management:
Maintain accurate and confidential health records for campers, including medication administration logs, incident reports, and health assessments.
Consultation and Advice:
Collaborate with the Summer Camp Director, camp staff, and parents to ensure the safety and well-being of campers.
Supervision:
Ensure camp counselors and staff are aware of and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
Conduct training and orientation related to health and emergency procedures.
Communication:
Maintain open and clear communication with camp leadership, parents, and regional center representatives regarding campers' medical needs and any health-related issues.
Health Education:
Organize health-related educational activities for campers and staff to promote a safe and healthy camp environment.
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
Compassion, patience, and the ability to work with a diverse and neurodiverse group of children.
Experience in pediatric nursing or a related field is preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Understanding of regional center services is a plus.
